My Training and Practice
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have undergone extensive training at WPF Training, one of the most respected psychotherapy institutes in the UK. The training was centred in the psychodynamic approach. It involved not only the study of various analytical approaches but years of supervised clinical practice as well as my own personal therapy.
I have my own private psychotherapy practice in Surbiton and I am a partner at The Practice in East Molesey. The Practice offers face to face and online counselling, psychotherapy and psychology in a confidential space in order to develop appropriate strategies and techniques to cope with your life difficulties in a more effective way.
My approach is client centred letting the client raise whatever they want in the session then exploring those feelings, thoughts or behaviours associated ,including any unconscious links that maybe contributing to their distress. I believe in the importance of the relationship between client and therapist, it can offer insight into previous relationship patterns as well offer a safe supportive non-judgemental base to explore emotional difficulties.
In addition to my formal training I have long term experience as a Mental Health Advocate working with clients to understand their emotional and practical needs to help them live a fulfilled independent life. I also have experience volunteering with children with special needs including autism, ADHD and various physical disabilities.
